Pack 1661 conducts its annual community goodwill activity, Scouting for Food, during the month of
November. The purpose of this activity is to collect can and dry good for the Fort Washington Food Pantry. The
pantry provided food to families in the community who are experiencing temporary finanical problems and are in need of food.
This is an excellent opportunity to help those in need.
The scouts will meet in the church parking lot on the specified Saturday morning to gather the
Scouting for Food bags and receive their distribution area assignment.
The scout will place the empty bags on the doors of the homes in the community. There are many
homes in the community. We try our best to get them all. If we missed yours, we either ran out of energy or the
bag possibly blew away. If you would like to participate, please follow the instructions below and just use a regular
plastic bag.
The bags will be collected the following weekend, also on a Saturday. The bags should be placed
on the front porch in plain sight from the road. We will collect the food from 9 AM to 12 PM. If we miss picking
up your bags, feel free to bring them to Fort Washington Baptist Church prior to 12 PM. If it is after 12 PM, please
drop them off at the Fort Washington Food Pantry, St. John's Episcopal Church (9801 Livingston Road).
If you need any additional information, please feel free to call us at 301.292.1384.
Thanks in advance for your support.
